My interest in weight lifting began when I was about 12 years old. There was something
about lifting weights that intrigued me. I was always reading up on all kinds of books and
magazines. I was some what skinny as a kid. But after 2 and half years of training. I weighed
195 lbs and sported a pair of 16 1/2" guns. I was always trying to get my friends to lift with me & help train them.
I started taking Ju-Jitsu when I was 20 years old & also trained in Judo, Jeet Kunedo, Tae
Kwon Do and Boxing over the next 7 years. Then at age 34, I got into Mountain Biking. I
learned to love Mountain Biking & how to endure pain. At the age of 39 I entered my first
Mountain Bike race in Castaic. I was placed 12th in the beginning class. I trained extra hard &
read a lot of books on training for Mountain Biking. My next finishes were 8th, 2nd, 2nd, 2nd
place respectively. I was very proud to get a 3rd overall for the season. The following year I
raced in the sport class getting 12th, 8th, 14th and 6th. At the age of 41, I entered my first
Body Building Contest in Culver City. I was very pleased to get a 3rd & 4th place trophy for
the novice & masters class. 6 months later I placed 5th out of 19 competitors. I received my
certification for personal training by NASM, Apex and AAFA . I am now studying for the NCSM& the NSCA Certifications.
I enjoy helping others see the joy in fitness and improving their quality of life.
